On Saturday delhi high court dismissed the challenging upper age limit of 25 & 30 years for general & reserve categories. for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) – UG as per the qualification for pursuing MBBS course. Students who appearing for the test from open schools has stuck down the clause. As per the decision made for the case for CBSE January 22 notification prescribing upper age limit of 25 years for general category candidates & 30 years for reserve category candidates is applicable. Students who have done class 12 from NIOS or open schools state boards are not eligible for the NEET examination appearing. The NEET results of such candidates would be declared.

As per 22nd January notification of CBSE candidates who have studied in open school, students who have has biology or biotechnology as an additional subject & those who have take more than two years to completing 11th & 12th standard who have privately are eligible to apply for examination.Candidates are allows to submit their applications for entrance test for 6 May. Also those students who studied from private institutes belonging to recognized board are eligible to apply. As the order was passed on several petitions moved by medical aspirants who were aggrieved by several other eligibility norms barring them from applying for NEET-UG for which the last date for submission of applications was 9th March.
