Nagpur District Vacancies 2016

DESPITE calls for tough action, officers from other parts of Maharashtra are not willing to join in Vidarbha. And, this is evident from the number of vacancies in important posts of Additional Collector and Deputy Collector in not only Nagpur, but also in entire Nagpur Division.
In the first quarter of last year, General Administration
Department (GAD) has disused show cause notices to at least nine of total 12 officers transferred to Nagpur Division as they had either not joined at given postings or had joined but proceeded only soon after. All these posts were of Deputy Collector rank. Prior to sending the notices, the Government had warned of disciplinary action against officers not joining in Vidarbha region.
However, since then, the situation does not appear to have changed despite the fact that GAD headed by Chief Minister has insisted on officers serving in Vidarbha as many of these officials either.
