Department of Technical Education is the highest policy making body in the field of Technical Education in Karnataka. Its primary function is planning of developing Technical Education in the state. The Board of Technical Examination is responsible for conduct of Diploma/Post diploma /Tailoring examination and award Diploma/Post Diploma/certificate to the eligible candidates.Director of Technical Educations the Chairman of the Board and all the other activities of the Board is carried out by the Secretary , Board of Technical Examination. As the Board conducts examinations in large number of centers across the State. Common guidelines are necessary based on Board of Technical Examinations working rules in order to bring uniformity and standardization in conduct of examinations.Central Board of Technical Examination was established in the year 1952 and subsequently predesignated as Board of Technical Examinations.Guidelines for issue of various certificates and conditions for issue of such certificate.

Duplicate Diploma Certificate will be issued to the candidate on production of following documents by DTE Karnataka.

• Required fees receipt paid in Government/Aided Polytechnic Treasury.
• Matter printed on Rs. 20-00 Stamp Paper.
• Original police complaint lodged in the area where Diploma Certificate was lost/stolen.
• Announcement in local dailies stating the loss of Diploma Certificates.
• Application duly signed by candidate and Principal.
