THIS time For the admission of 2016 – 2017 DTE Engineering BE and B.tech the engineering colleges won’t be able to deceive students, which some of them were doing till last year. Reason, the fool proof System of admission process adopted by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE).
Addressing the media persons at his office, Joint Director of Technical Education spoke person said, “Last year, we found that some of the colleges were flouting the norms and misguiding students. This time, our system won’t allow them to do so. DTE has made lot of changes in the admission process of technical courses. The admission process to run on ‘Freeze’, ‘Float’ and ‘Slide’ options. The process is very flexible from the students point of view.”
While informing about the admission process in detail, “After the declaration of result of Common Entrance Test, students will go for the admission process. They have to fill up the application and give options. If they move to second round then they had to fill up the list of options again. This time, DTE has made a change according to which the students can give upto 300 options once only. If in the first round a student get the college which is at number one in his/her option list then it is mandatory for the student to take admission in that college.

“In case, if the student feels, he wants to opt for other college then he has to submit the option application before the commencement of fourth round. If a student fails to take admission in the college allotted to him in first round itself then the seat will be distributed in the next round. After the allotment, if student fail to report at the reporting centre, he will lose that seat and become ineligible to appear in Round-2 and 3,” added Thakre.
This time there will be no Application Receipt Centre (ARC). Instead there will be two centres – one is Facilitation centre where students would go and fill up the forms, get the scrutinee of documents done and do the redressed of complaints. The other centre is Admission Reporting Centre where students would report, submit the required papers, pay the fees.
Application Procedure of MHTCET 2016
Explaining the process of Admission 2016 – students will have to choose one option from three– Freeze, Float, Slide. If a student gets allotment of a college and he wants to take admission in that college then he would choose ‘Freeze’ option. Such student will not be eligible to go to the second and third round. But he can rearrange his option in the fourth round. If a student get admission in a college in Mechanical branch and he wants to choose Civil in the same college, then he would opt for ‘Slide’. In such case, he will be eligible to enter in second and third round. If a student chooses the option of ‘Float’ then he will be eligible for second and third round (3rd Round). The student who, after getting allotment of a college, want to take a chance for other college will be benefited by the option ‘Float’. In the fourth round, the seat availability will be displayed on the website. They can change the options or can fill up new application.
